In 2025 ISAAC Australia was able to make some small grants available.
Our aim was (as always) to promote worldwide awareness about how AAC can help individuals who need it.
The grant process was announced with a focus on innovative approaches to research in AAC that may otherwise have been limited by the constraints of other funding programs.
At the end of this process we are pleased to announce that three applications have been awarded funding.
Multilingual Family Interactions with Children who have Complex Communication Needs:
- An Exploratory Qualitative Study (Dr Natalie Skinner)
- Listening to the Learners: A Scoping Review on Supporting Students from Diverse Communication and Cultural Backgrounds (Ms Trini Lam)
- A Randomised Cross-Over Trial Examining the Efficacy of Implementing a Speech Generating Device for Children with Childhood Dementia (Ms Jen Wong).
Reports on each of these grants will be shared via AGOSCI‘s education platform. ISAAC Australia thanks AGOSCI for their support!
And BIG congratulations to each of the grant awardees:
Dr Natalie Skinner
Ms Trini Lam
Ms Jen Wong
