Brenton has made an outstanding contribution to the AAC community through his advocacy. He is currently a Disability and AAC Advisor at the Centre of Research Excellence: CP-Achieve.
He has participated in educational videos about AAC and strongly believes in the importance of individuals who use AAC having a communication system that supports their thoughts and experiences. He assists speech pathologists by offering communication support for individuals with similar needs to his and he volunteers with a number of organisations. His advocacy centers around communication for everyone!
Brenton has been using AAC for most of his life. He uses it to communciate throughout his life but also uses it to advocate for himself and others. He has co-authored a publication titled “Can You Hear Us” which informs researchers about involving AAC users as research partners and participants. His use of AAC is not just to advance himself, but to advance everyone who needs AAC.
