Dear ISAAC Australia members and former members!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m writing to you as part of my new role as the President of ISAAC Australia.  I\u2019m very excited to be taking this journey as part of the ISAAC Australia team \u2013 and having more opportunities to raise the awareness of AAC and to continue to contribute to advocacy in this area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m joined on the executive team by Emma Grace, our newly appointed secretary, and by Meredith Allan, our long term and amazing treasurer.  We\u2019re also very lucky to have BJ Dee-Price along as our council representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have a lot of plans to come \u2013 but this email really is intended as a quick introduction to our executive and an opportunity to talk to you about the upcoming ISAAC Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of us in Australia have fond memories of the ISAAC 2018 Conference on the Gold Coast.  The learning and camaraderie were amazing \u2013 and it was so exciting to have so many of the strong and positive voices in the world of AAC on our shores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year we also have an opportunity to attend an ISAAC Conference again \u2013 this time from the comfort of our own homes or workplaces.  ISAAC will be hosting their biennial conference as an online event this time.  Presenters will be coming together from all over the world to share their knowledge, experience and, inevitably, humour \u2013 as well as resources.  And the great news is that you will have 6 months in which to watch the presentations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I, personally, found the previous online ISAAC Conference in 2020 to be an amazing learning opportunity.  For the first time I wasn\u2019t picking between three presentations I wanted to see at the same time \u2013 I could watch them all!  And if I needed to revisit a presentation to deepen my learning so that I could share it with team members and colleagues, then I was able to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
