2012
On 24th May 2012 we held our Annual General Meeting of members. This year it is held by teleconference. If you are a member and would like to attend, please see details arriving in your mailbox on Monday and RSVP to Debbie.
As a Chapter of ISAAC, our main event is the Biennial International Conference. In late July, the ISAAC conference is on in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA. In Pittsburgh, the Australian chapter will also hold a Chapter Meeting, and aim to get a photograph afterwards of the group present. Australia usually has quite a strong contingent at the international meetings – sometimes as many as 30 members attending!
Every year, we hold a Chapter meeting at a conference that many of our members attend. In the ISAAC Conference year (2012, 2014 etc) we hold a Chapter meeting at the ISAAC conference (Pittsburgh, 2012). In the off-conference year for ISAAC, we hold our members’ meeting at the AGOSCI National Conference (Sydney, 2013). Our AGM meetings are usually held by Teleconference with sites where members can gather on speaker phone, in each State participating. Only members of ISAAC-Australia can vote at the meetings.
As a Chapter of ISAAC, we have International Representation on the Council of ISAAC, of a Member Representing the Chapter, and a Member of the Council who is the Chapter President. For 2012’s Council Meeting in Pittsburgh, the Council members are Barbara Solarsh (President) and Bronwyn Hemsley (Australia’s Representative to the ISAAC Council).
If you have any questions about our Rules, Statement of Purpose, or ISAAC’s By-Laws, please address these queries to Debbie our Secretary, and we will endeavour to provide the information that members require as soon as possible. We want ISAAC-Australia to be a vibrant member of the ISAAC community, and hope that you will join us in furthering the mission of ISAAC in Australia.
